Meet the xDuoo TA-32 DAC/Hybrid Tube Amp
January 06, 2025Hybrid Tube Class-A Amp with Swappable DAC Card
We’re thrilled to announce that we’re now selling the xDuoo TA-32 on Apos. The xDuoo TA-32 is a Class-A hybrid headphone amplifier with a swappable digital-to-analog converter (DAC) card. It combines tube rectification with transistor technology, bringing a dose of warmth to your music. It also delivers enough power to drive a variety of headphones.
Class-A Hybrid Design
A Class-A amplifier continuously runs at a high bias current. In the TA-32, this approach pairs with vacuum tubes and transistors. A 5U4G tube handles rectification, while a matched pair of Ray Tubes 12AU7 CORE lends that classic tube musicality. On the solid-state side, the transistor buffer stage delivers the current flow. The result is a blend of tube warmth and transistor power.
Swappable DAC Card
The TA-32 allows you to switch out the DAC card when you feel like changing up the sound profile. The stock configuration includes a ROHM BD34301 DAC chip. xDuoo also offers an ES9039SPRO and an AK4499EX option (available separately).
Seamless Connectivity
The TA-32 is designed to work with a range of sources. There’s USB for connecting to your computer. There’s also coaxial, optical, and Bluetooth. The USB input decodes digital audio at up to PCM 768kHz and DSD512. It supports MQA 8x decoding as well. The Bluetooth 5.1 interface—powered by a Qualcomm QCC5125 receiver chip—handles SBC, AAC, aptX, aptX LL, aptX HD, and LDAC.
3000mW Output Power
Some headphone amplifiers struggle to drive higher-impedance headphones. The TA-32 provides up to 3000mW into 32Ω. That means it can handle headphones in the 16–600Ω range. The available overhead helps preserve clarity and prevents distortion at varying volume levels.
Tube Preamp Option
If you already own an amplifier or powered speakers, you can put the TA-32 to use as a tube-driven preamplifier. The matched pair of Ray Tubes 12AU7 CORE in the signal path can lend more smoothness to certain recordings. This may appeal to those who prefer a bit of warmth with their music.
