Next Gen Specs
With distortion as low as 0.00009% and a dynamic range of 126dB, the E50 is a desktop DAC that’s light on bells and whistles but heavy on performance.
ES9068AS DAC chip
The E50 uses the latest ESS ES9068AS DAC chip, a 32-bit, 2-channel D/A converter designed for audiophile-grade applications. Using the critically acclaimed ESS patented HyperStream II architecture, QUAD DAC technology, Time Domain Jitter Eliminator, and advanced SABRE HiFi technology, the ES9068AS delivers world-class audio performance.
DSD512 & 32-bit/768kHz PCM via USB
The E50 offers top-of-the-line decoding via USB with the XMOS XU216 2nd generation 16-core processor. It supports 32-bit/768kHz PCM, DSD512 native, and MQA full decoding. Windows 10, Max, Linux, iOS, and Android users can plug-and-play the E50 without installing drivers. Only Windows ASIO applications require a driver.
24-bit coax and optical
Get HiFi decoding not only with the USB input but with the coax and optical as well. The E50’s coax and optical inputs support 24-bit/192kHz PCM, DSD64 (DoP), and MQA rendering.
Ultra-portable 5V power supply
The E50 requires only a 5V power supply, meaning you can power it with the USB port of your PC or Mac, or a portable phone charger. At only six inches on its longest side, you can slip it into your suitcase, backpack, or briefcase and use it on trips.
Smart on/off
With an auto on/off function for all inputs, the E50 is a true “set it and forget it” DAC. It automatically turns on and decodes whichever input is receiving a signal, and when it hasn’t received a signal for sixty seconds, it automatically turns off.
Selectable output port
The E50 features an output selection button with options for “TRS only,” “RCA only,” and “TRS + RCA.” This last option lets you run cables to two different destinations, such as a headphone amp and powered monitors, and listen to either without having to do the cable shuffle.
Doubles as a preamp
If you only need a DAC to use with powered speakers, you can skip buying an amp completely. That’s because the E50 has a preamplifier mode. WIth this mode selected, you can control the output volume with the remote control.
